Multilingual Learners

An important part of ongoing professional learning is for teachers to develop teaching methods that nurture multilingual learners and explore personal beliefs about language and language learning. The short tasks below introduce teachers to a range of strategies and considerations for effectively meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of multilingual learners. Drawing on current research and studies of effective practice, engaging with the tasks will support the development of practical strategies for immediate classroom use. The tasks are aligned to World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) standards.
